Whether you are buying your ticket direct from the bus driver, on the m-ticket app, on the key, or as a scratchcard there is a ticket for you. Read below for more information on the different ticket types we have. M-Tickets

Download our m-ticket app for free and let your phone become your ticket. You can buy tickets 24/7 and have your ticket to travel immediately or save it for later. Simply activate your ticket before boarding the bus, show the driver and away you go.

The m-ticket app offers great savings on your bus fare compared with paying cash on the bus. Available for both adults and students, there are a range of different tickets on offer.

The Key

Our electronic key smartcard can be requested online at smartbuses.co.uk or by popping into our 1 Stop Travel Shop, 26 North Street, Brighton, BN1 1EB or our reception at 43 Conway Street, Hove, BN3 3LT.

The key smartcard is easy to use - top up online or in one of our shops and place your card on the reader when boarding the bus. Please note if you do purchase tickets for your key card at one of our shops it will cost more. For full details on prices in store click here.

Cash Fares

We do accept cash on our buses to pay for single and 1 day SAVER tickets. However, it is usually much cheaper to buy your ticket in advance on our m-ticket app, or online on the key smartcard.

Scratchcard Tickets

Our scratchcard tickets are available to buy from selected shops, or from our 1 Stop Travel Shop, 26 North Street, Brighton, BN1 1EB and our reception at 43 Conway Street, Hove, BN3 3LT. The scratchcard tickets are the equivalent of a networkSAVER and offer unlimited travel on any Brighton & Hove bus and can be purchased in a variety of durations.

SAVER Zones

Whether bought on the bus, on the m-ticket app, on the key, or as a scratchcard our SAVER ticket has two zones. To find out more information about our SAVER tickets and the zones, click here.

Young People

We offer some great price deals for young people aged 5-18 with our busID card. Our busID cards are available to young people who are permanent residents in the Brighton & Hove area or near one of our bus routes. You can get one by completing an application form online or by popping in to our 1 Stop Travel Shop, 26 North Street, Brighton, BN1 1ED or our reception at 43 Conway Street, Hove, BN3 3LT.

The busID card can get the holder discounted fares directly from the bus driver or can be topped up online at smartbuses.co.uk.

Students

As a student you can get great savings on your bus fare with a valid Student ID card when using our mobile phone app (m-ticket) or key smartcard. The key smartcard can only be obtained in our 1 Stop Travel Shop, 26 North Street, Brighton, BN1 1EB due to the need to show your Student ID.

National Concessionary Passes

National Concessionary Pass holders are entitled to free travel on any Brighton & Hove bus. However, there are certain time restrictions depending on which council your pass is issued by.

Group Travel

Duo

With our Duo m-ticket, 2 people can travel together within the citySAVER area, for a day for £7.90 or within the networkSAVER area for £8.40. The citySAVER ticket is not valid on the City Sightseeing tours or our Night Buses.

Quattro

With our Quattro m-ticket, up to 4 people can travel together for up to an hour within the citySAVER area, at any time of day, for just £7. The Quattro m-ticket allow you to change buses as many times as you like within the hour to get to your destination and can also be used on our Night Buses.

Family Travel

Our family networkSAVER ticket gives unlimited travel on any Brighton and Hove bus for a day for up to 5 people (minimum 1 adult and maximum 2 adults). The family networkSAVER cannot be used on the City Sightseeing tours.

Our family networkSAVER can be purchased directly from the driver for £10, or can be purchased in advance on our app for just £9. Download our free app here.

Discovery Ticket

Our Discovery ticket gives you unlimited travel on any Brighton & Hove bus as well as travel on selected operators in West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Brighton & Hove and East Hampshire.

Southern & Thameslink

You can purchase Southern & Thameslink SAVERs direct from our bus drivers. Both tickets offer unlimited travel within the citySAVER zones and are also valid for a return train journey.

PLUSBUS

PLUSBUS tickets are rail tickets with an add on that allows you to travel on any Brighton & Hove bus for the day but only within the area stated on the ticket. Commuters can add the PLUSBUS facility on to their rail season ticket too and can also be purchased online from most train company websites.
