The annual Burning of the Clocks ceremony takes place in the City centre on Thursday 21 December. North Street will be closed in both directions between 6pm and 7pm and diversion will be in place. The procession goes from New Road via North Street to Ship Street, Prince Albert Street, East Street and then crosses the A259 to proceed to Madeira Drive.
Services towards Churchill Square from Old Steine will use the seafront diversion of the Coast Road and West Street. Coastal Buses travelling from the Sea Life Centre will also observe the same diversion. All Service 25’s will terminate at the Old Steine.
Buses heading east from Churchill Square that operate towards the Old Steine / St Peters Church will operate via Queens Road and North Road, observing a temporary stop towards the bottom of North Road, buses heading towards St Peters Church will not serve Old Steine, all other services will continue to the Old Steine.
Buses heading south from Brighton Station will operate via North Road and continue to Old Steine.
